Newsflash: consumers use their Map App to find goods and services. The searches they perform are, in part, seasonal. I wanted soup when a cold snap decided to ruin our Texas Autumn. I put in "soup" into Google Maps and here's what I got: Obviously, some restaurants are on top of this keyword, but the reason I'm writing this is because a business that I follow because I know the owner isn't on this map, despite posting an impressive list of soup on their Instagram. Of course, maybe the problem is that he doesn't have the menu on his Google My Business listing....
Do you really want customers to control your listed menu? "If the “Menu” or “Services” sections are empty, your current live menu or services list is provided by third-party sources. If there are any changes to the Menu, Services or Product Editor, these lists will be overwritten" (Menu/Services section of "Edit your business listing on Google" page). If you have a clothing store, maybe June isn't the time for "coat" to appear in the "Attributes" section of your Google My Business listing, but September through March probably is. "Dog friendly" is definitely a great search term anytime of year if your business loves to love! Maybe you're thinking, "great idea, Jarrod, but I don't have time." Cool. I can manage it for you. Let me know.
