I know what you're thinking: "I can work WithContxt?!?!?!?!?! All my prayers have been answered!!!!!! I'm packin' my bags for Dallas now!!!!!" Well, slow your horses, buckaroo. You need to be "qualified," and have "job skills" so that, together, we can "make the greatest app in the history of the entire world."
WithContxt – Be Better WithContxt
WithContxt facilitates fun, lighthearted interactions among friends by creating games out of every day contests or challenges. And probably creating rivalry. And some taunting. Oh, and you win coins. Lots of coins. Everyone likes winning. You like winning, right? Or are you a loser like your 3rd grade bully? Don't be like that guy. Be a winner.
Ultimately, we will provide massive value to local businesses and non-profits who utilize the application to inspire users to better their communities, interact with those in need, discover new and innovative products and services, and generally get their rear ends off of the couch and out from behind their phone screen. Until we are able to add features, it's really just a fun way to interact with friends. With our limited marketing expenses, we'll be targeting a slightly older demographic of smartphone users who may not appreciate Snapchat, Instagram, and other platforms, but who will definitely appreciate Contxts.
Furthermore, if you've read the book, “Contagious: Why Things Catch On,” and thought, “gosh, I'd really like to create something that goes viral,” it's your lucky day because this thing is going to be more contagious than the Macarena, but with far fewer fatalities.
Guru of Technological Advancement AKA CTO
Salary: $36,000 - $100,000 annual plus .05% - 6% equity (highly dependent upon what you bring to the table, but shooting for compensation of $200,000 in the first year, which can also include help with relocating if needed)
We are looking for a highly motivated and accomplished mobile app developer to join our team to lead the current app changes and future versions developments. You need to be a “Jack-of-all-Trades,” or have the ability to manage the outsourcing of the aspects you can't actually handle. There's no shame in not personally accomplishing everything, in favor of farming out some aspects, but we need to do it safely and cost-effectively. Also, it says “we,” but, let's be honest here, you'll be the second person, so it should really say “I.”
Role description
You’ll take ownership of iOS/Android application development, database modeling, architecture, and implementation, and develop the administration applications.
Implement new features, identify and destroy bugs, improve the user experience, and generally be the guy or gal who gets stuff done on the technology side.
Maintain high standards of quality through automated testing, continuous integration and automation scripts.
Ensure our application is ready, willing, and able to allow users to create seriously amazing Contxts so that we can change the internets.
Integrate latest iOS and Android updates in order to take advantage of newest features.
Requirements (more like a big Amazon Wishlist):
Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (heavy on the *experience*).
Minimum 8 years (unless you really know wtf you're doing or can accept that you need some help from agile developers) of practical experience in mobile development, web development, full stack implementations, and server builds and maintenance.
Must love dogs (absolutely required).
You have published one or more mobile applications.
Action-oriented, diligent, flexible, and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial, creative and innovative spirit (in other words, no potheads).
Main technologies: iOS, javscript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, PHP, Obj.-C , mobile SDKs, Swift, Android, and associated IDEs. Database technologies include: MySQL, Postgres, and familiar with NOSQL databases.
Responsive design front-end development for both mobile and web.
Ability to handle Jarrod Atkinson (no small feat).
Bottomline: Once we get this thing off the ground, we're going to make a ton of money. The (actually pretty advanced) MVP is being submitted to the App Store soon*, so you're not starting from scratch on the iOS application, though you are on the Android and desktop browser versions. If we need to farm out things in order to get them done, fantastic; you're going to call the shots, but having connections to people who want to fund our little adventure would be super.
*"soon" means different things to different people, but let's just say... soon....
Ok, we have work to do. Are you WithContxt or OutOfContxt? If you've decided the former, then shoot your info over to Jarrod at [email protected].
